The film closed Day 1 of the AYA Congress, reached over 300 people, and had some incredible responses
Toby has aced moving forward from cancer. He has an award-winning theatre show, been to the Arctic Tundra and had an illustrious career as a male model. When he is asked to explain his top tips on camera to an international audience he is more than happy to! However, he could only get the funding through if he made the short film with another cancer patient, so he has roped a friend, Grace, in to help him. Filled with heart and humour, they explore the world of remission, highlighting the diverse experiences and the invisible impacts of life beyond a diagnosis.
“In 30mins this summed up and covered so many of the issues I’ve seen in 17 years of nursing AYAs with cancer! Brilliant performance, so well written #AYACancerCongress”
“A very powerful piece about the impact of cancer on mental health played in a tragi-comic style…If you can get to watch it, I’m sure you will agree that it is a great piece of work that becomes more powerful and compelling as the performance progresses.
